The United Kingdom (UK) will leave the European Union (EU) on 29 March 2019, which will bring about changes that will affect businesses and individual citizens.
Helping you prepare for EU Exit
Government has now launched a portal to help businesses and citizens prepare for Brexit. Currently it brings together content from the Technical Notices in one location. However, the content will be developed over the coming months and you are invited to provide feedback to ensure the portal is as useful as it can be for life science businesses.
Immigration White Paper
Government has also published The future skills-based immigration system white paper. Leaving the EU will end free movement and ensure full control of the border. A new single immigration system has been designed based on skills and talent. The new immigration and borders system will be implemented in a phased approach from 2021 following an extensive 12-month programme of engagement with businesses, stakeholders and the public by the Home Office. This white paper sets out the government’s plans to introduce the new single immigration system.
