UKTelehealthcare, together with a number of organisations in the TECS sector and the communications providers, have been actively addressing the issues raised by the All IP transition. They are now in collaboration with NHSX (a joint unit of the Department of Health & Social Care and NHS England & Improvement with a focus on digital development). The team is working on a project to ensure that the social care sector is prepared for the digital switchover by 2025. Below is a summary and link to a survey the NHSX team have asked us to share. We encourage you to make the time to complete as this will provide important input for our industry.
Michael Swaffield (Adult Social Care Tech and Data Policy, NHSX) spoke on the UKTHC All IP panel about the work they have commissioned from technology consultancy FarrPoint, on the readiness of England’s telecare services ahead of the telephone network moving to digital.
The survey is now open until 22 October for those commissioning, delivering and supplying telecare services and equipment. This work is supported by the Local Government Association, the Association of Adult Directors of Social Services, UKTelehealthcare (the independent membership organisation for TECS) and TSA (Technology Enabled Care Services Association). Findings will inform NHSX awareness guidance in the new year.
If you would like to be considered to be interviewed as part of this work, and Michael would particularly like to hear from local authorities, please e-mail him via firstname.lastname@example.org
