On 20 May 2020, over 250 business leaders attended Medilink Midlands Strategic Partner Grant Thornton’s webinar on leading beyond the unknown.
During the call, Grant Thornton experts took attendees through what they are doing to prepare for the future as the government begins to bring the UK out of lockdown:
- Karen Brice (Chair) – Director, Governance and Board Advisory
- Malcolm Gomersall – COO
- Marc Roberts – Partner, International Property Management
- Bethan Gill – People Advisory
Is this the end of the office?
It’s becoming clear that the workplace we left is not the one we’re going back to once lockdown has eased. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the office – just perhaps the end as we know it. It’s been exciting to adapt quickly and work differently, and many have carved out a cosy home office for themselves.
Are physical offices a thing of the past? We think not, but many people won’t need as large an office footprint going forward. Watch the video above to find out what the office of the future will look like.
How Grant Thornton has dealt with the lockdown
According to a survey we conducted, 75% of employees don’t want their workplace to return to the way it was before COVID-19. We’re working to understand our own team’s new wants and needs.
In the webinar recording above, our COO tells our own ‘lockdown story’ and explains how we’re planning to re-invent our business for the new world.
What does this mean for your people?
While considering the new world, it is important to involve your employees in decisions that are made, to ensure successful implementation of any changes.
